Act II · Shanghai
Book wherever suits you; the city’s heart is compact and everything we are hosting is an easy ride from all three neighborhoods below. If you would rather not think about it, book our suggested hotel and you will be steps from us and from each other.
Prepared August 2026 · our own hotel will be marked here once we confirm it
88 Henan Central Road, Huangpu · the anchor for the group
Right between the Bund and the People’s Square metro cluster: a ten-minute walk to the waterfront, two metro lines close by, and an easy start for every one of our chapters. Staying together means shared cars to the cruise, lobby meetups, and after-dinner nightcaps that do not require logistics. If a group rate makes sense once we know numbers, we will arrange it and share a booking link here.
The pin is the Westin. The Bund is the riverfront just east of it; the former French Concession begins a short ride west.
Our own pick
Tree-lined streets, lane houses, cafés you fall into and leave three hours later. The prettiest walking in the city and closest to Friday’s dumpling class and neighborhood stroll. Quieter at night, and you will ride the metro or DiDi to the river.
The classic · where the Westin is
The waterfront promenade, the colonial skyline, the postcard. Most central to everything we are hosting, dense with hotels at every price, and the Saturday cruise leaves from this side of the river.
The skyline view
Across the river among the supertowers: this is where you wake up to the view the city is famous for. Sleek high-floor hotels, easy metro, slightly more of a ride to the older neighborhoods where most of our week happens.
